After last year’s cancellation, the 2022 Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction was a stunning success, smashing all previous records.

WineWorks is once again the event’s Principal Partner, along with many sponsors who hold their community at heart. And as always, the auction’s sole beneficiary is Cranford Hospice, a pillar of the region to all who need great support in trying times. HBWA is finally back, and the items up for the highest bidders were better than ever.

The auction is an excellent way to bring the Hawke’s Bay region’s community together, and there’s no better way than bidding amongst 40 lots of unique wine packages curated by local winegrowers. Amongst these lots, attendees bid for some original work from the event’s Featured Artist, John Lancashire, as well as an exclusive blending session with HBWA Ambassador Mike McRoberts and Elephant Hill’s Hugh Crichton.

After the postponement of last year’s event on its’ 30th year, there was more the reason for us to all celebrate the anniversary of this charitable event. Attendees truly exceeded expectation at the auction, raising $352,000 for Cranford Hospice, breaking previous records and this still being the single largest annual donation to the organization.
