Foundation for Youth Development Marlborough’s innovative abseil fundraiser sees local leaders ‘step over the edge’ of the Alfred St carpark for the benefit of local kids, on Sunday October 19. This year 40 courageous Marlburians take on the challenge, including our own Damien Gillman, Marlborough’s Plant Manager
– we ask you to help us raise the minimum $500 (FYD set up a personalised online fundraising page here to assist with this), the local Mountain Safety Council provides the ropes and harness, and gravity takes care of the rest!
To deliver Kiwi Can lessons every week for a year costs on average $250 per child. As the programme is almost exclusively locally funded this fundraising event is extremely important. All funds raised through Drop Your Boss will go towards programme delivery costs. In 2015 Kiwi Can is set to reach 500 kids across the region. Come along to the Alfred Street car park in Blenheim on the 19th October and cheer Damien on!!
