Not so boring – this month we have hosted a Government delegation arranged by NZ Winegrowers from the Ministry of Primary Industries, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. What a revelation it was to them – and to us! Our brief (a vineyard, a winery and a bottling plant) was to show the government the changing face of the industry. Which we all did. And at the same time we gained a new appreciation of how important it is for us to have a good relationship with government (market access, risk control, etc) . How bad would be for us all if we had a Fonterra-baby-formula-type scandal? We hope to host another visit from NZ Customs next month with the same aim: Closer relationships.
