A couple of hundred people have had a go at guessing the total tons harvested in this years vintage, with their entries heavily skewed to a low tonnage, (average of these is 420,000, 8% less than last years tonnage of 457,000 tons). You can’t help but admire Sheena Symes from the WW Marlborough lab with her stone-cold 309,000 tons, and Andrew the Lab Rat has taken out his customary position as hi-score, with 600,000 tons! Gulp! Last year’s winner was Nigel Avery of Booster Wine Group, who hit it on the head at 457,000 tons, winning the $100 note! If you entered, all you have to do is wait for the NZ Winegrowers announcement in May/June, and make space in your wallet!
If you didn’t enter, tell me how come you didn’t hear about the most high-publicised event in the WW calendar, and I’ll make sure you’re included next year!
